Steven James Grogan is a former football midfielder who has played at the National Football Federation for sixteen seasons with the New England Patriots team. He played college football at Kansas State University and was chosen by the Patriots in the fifth round of the NFL Draft in 1975. An agile and enduring dual midfielder in an era known for pocket volleyball, he led the league in both volleyball and midfielders during his career, and won a record 12 touches in midfield in 1976, a record spanning 35 seasons. Grogan ran over 500 yards in 1978 and led the team to the NFL record of 3,156 yards, overshadowed by the 2019 Baltimore Ravens. When he retired in 1990, he held numerous records for the number of games and the longevity of the team. He was introduced to the New England Patriotic Hall of Fame in 1995 and now owns a sporting goods store in Massachusetts.
